America's Greatest Challenge: Succession and Continuity

A brief introduction

By Seph Bay

The United States of America – land of the free, home of the brave, world’s last remaining super power, and history’s biggest economy – is a two-hundred thirty-two year old experiment in democracy and capitalism. There is no assurance this mighty nation will last forever.

In mankind's history, no other civilization has brought so much wealth, progress, education, invention, imagination and innovation to so many people, in so many places, in such a short amount of time.

History also tells us no other nation has brought so much ecological damage, displaced so many people from their traditional habitats, and waged wars that annihilated the most number of people, in so many places, in the same amount of  time.

However, we have to admit, there is no alternative to the most successful social experiment in democracy and free-market capitalism (if there was, and if there will be, we haven't found it yet).

Mankind's history and experience has shown that all great empires and civilizations eventually fall. This is an inevitability.

Our nation runs a parallel path with modern civilization.

If America seizes to exist, society as we know it will also seize to exist; a bold assumption based on rationality and reason.

This is why our greatest challenge is Succession and Continuity -- to ensure the continuous viability of the United States of America.

We've dealt with, won against, and continue to deal with bearded men who want the downfall of the USA.

We've set aside our differences with other nations to minimize nuclear threats. Now we face the grave concern of global warming caused by incessant burning of fossil fuels. Sometime in the future we know cosmic projectiles might rain down from the heavens. And while our imagination brings us the thought of invasions by extra-terrestrial beings, our beliefs continue to unfold supernatural revelations.

For pessimists, the world is doomed.

For optimists, political and social problems open up limitless economic opportunities bringing a better way of life.

The forces that we can control and comprehend challenge every American to ensure the continuity of the USA. Not for one or two generations, not even just for three, or five, or ten. But longevity through perpetuity.

Succession and Continuity is America's greatest challenge.

The study of Succession and Continuity helps promote the continuous viability of the United States of America, and this website is dedicated to be the hub of research and information for this purpose.
